01

The Artist

Arthur Black is a modern country singer-songwriter whose music is built on one simple belief: the greatest songs come from everyday life. An observant storyteller with the heart of an old soul, he writes about family, relationships, traditions, laughter, and the conversations that become lifelong memories — songs that feel familiar because they reflect the lives people are already living.

02

Nashville Roots

Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Arthur spent nearly four decades surrounded by one of the world's richest songwriting traditions before beginning his next chapter in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Growing up in one of the world's great musical capitals gave him a deep appreciation for timeless songwriting, but his greatest inspiration never came from the industry itself — it came from the people around him.

03

The Writer

Arthur discovered songwriting at fifteen, realizing early that music was more than entertainment — it was his way of preserving life's stories. Inspired by the storytelling of Alan Jackson, the soul of Ray Charles, and the authenticity of Darius Rucker, he built a style that blends modern country with honesty, warmth, humor, and emotional sincerity.

04

The Story of Naggin'

The debut single began more than twenty-five years ago during one of life's simplest moments. While making a box of Hamburger Helper, Arthur's girlfriend playfully kept reminding him about unfinished chores. Instead of letting the moment pass, he reached for a pen and turned an ordinary conversation into a song. The idea stayed with him for decades — and when it came time to introduce himself as an artist, he knew exactly which song deserved to be first.

05

The Sound

Set against the backdrop of a college football Saturday, "Naggin" captures a scene countless couples immediately recognize. Modern country with a storyteller's spine — guitars that breathe, drums that swing, lyrics you catch yourself repeating. It's funny, honest, and familiar, not because it's about football, but because it's about life.

06

The Operations

Independent by choice and committed to artistic integrity, Arthur Black is building a catalog centered on timeless songwriting, memorable characters, and genuine human experiences. The single is released through his independent imprint, Word Around Town Records (WATR), with Arthur Black Operations managing the campaign end to end and Pen Down Publishing handling the songwriting catalog — a professionally managed, independent release with major-label craftsmanship.

07

The Promise

Every song Arthur writes is created with one hope: that listeners won't simply hear it — they'll see themselves in it. His goal isn't simply to release songs. It's to create music that families revisit across generations because it still feels true. "I hope they remember," Arthur says, "that I knew how to put life into songs."
